During his exile, he travelled from Hastināpura to Dvārakā via the Arbudāraṇya. There in Dvārakā, he was married to Subhadrā who was sister to Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma. [6/7]

However, once Arjuna had to break this regulation in order to do a favour to a brāhmaṇa who had sought help. Though the brothers insisted him to stay, Arjuna refused and accepted the punishment out of integrity. [5/7]

During that time, the other brothers were barred from entering her room and anyone breaking the regulation would incur a 12-year exile. This was done to avoid conflict amongst the brothers and the Pāṇḍavas happily lived like this for some time. [4/7]

The place has many interesting historical episodes attached to it. Let me share one. In the Ādi Parva of the Mahābhārata, Vyāsa made the Pāṇḍava brothers agree to the condition that each brother would go on to live with Draupadī for a specific period of time. [3/7]

(b) number "ten crore" which may imply the hundreds of small mountains in a poetic exaggeration. In the Itihāsa and Purāṇa texts, the entire region has has been ascribed as the "Arbudāraṇya" because of the surrounding dense forest landscape that covers it like a canopy. [2/7]
