I didn’t need any 1:1 adaption of the comics. All I‘m saying is that it would’ve been nice to see at least some of their 616 mythos, villains and stories somewhat accurately adapted. In MY opinion the MCU improved NOTHING upon the source material.

These condescending takes really get on my damn nerves. SHIELD finding Steve in the ice and not the Avengers irreversibly changed the team dynamics to the point we‘re still dealing with the "they’re just co-workers" takes to this day.
“No finding Steve in the ice” they literally covered that in flashbacks in CA and Avengers. Those are FILMS/MOVIES where they have limited time to tell a story with correlation and logic to previous/following projects. It’s not a comic book or tv show. Hope this helps.

Maybe I could interest anyone here in this mini run about the early days of the 616!Avengers? 👀.
Took my own advice and reread this. Why do we never talk about this run? . Avengers meetings, the mansion, their Official Charter, Tony running himself ragged as both Stark and Iron Man, dealing with political red tape and all their big egos, finding Steve, becoming friends, etc.

ALSO NO VILLAIN REHABILITATION. Black Widow and Hawkeye starting out as SHIELD agents instead of Iron Man antagonists was bland af in retrospect. And AoU went overboard in making the Maximoff twins volunteer for a Nazi organization. Worst of both worlds.

It’s only when you finally read the comics that you realise that these movies basically included nothing of what makes the Avengers the, well, the Avengers. No charter, no mansion, no Jarvis, no finding Steve in the ice, no Janet and Hank, no secret identity shenanigans, nothing.
