I hate everything about this. Black people do not have "interconnected" global struggles. I have more in common with a white person from Kentucky than a black person in South Africa.
I'm old enough to remember that the struggles of Soweto in South Africa and the Favelas in Brazil are interconnected with the struggles of Cabrini-Green on the North Side of Chicago.
