Using 3D models is fine as long as you CAN draw without it imo. You will not get good results from tracing a 3D model if you have no anatomy, composition and fundamentals knowledge anyways. It will look stiff and wonky. You still have to dress the character, draw the face,

If you can only draw pale white skinned characters, and make a commissioners character 50 shades lighter than their actual skin tone range, I suggest you either close your comms or seriously do some art studies 😭 it’s actually DIABOLICAL how big of an issue this is
