It is no longer here. X has turned into an echo chamber of disinformation, anti-immigrant hate, racism and violent propaganda. It simply does not align with our commitment to storytellers and audiences.

In loving memory of pioneering Surinamese filmmaker Pim de la Parra who died on Sept 6 at 84 y/o. De la Parra directed Suriname’s first feature-length drama, Wan Pipel (1976), an anti-colonial Caribbean cinema classic. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his loved ones.

Honoured on behalf of @thrdhrzn to be providing an intro to Horace Ové’s great cricket comedy of manners, Playing Away (1987), starring the fantastic Guyanese actor Norman Beaton, as part of this vital series at BAM. New York friends, you do not want to miss these films!

Miami - we out here! Literally. Catch us outside as you’re waiting in line for Chef Creole (that fried fish is worth it), cruising down Biscayne, or catching the bus home. But mostly, tell a friend May 9-12 there’s only one place to be & that’s with us at #THFF24. See y’all soon
