Hrm I'm struggling with the whole "talking myself out of starting a business" thing that I do so well. I have an idea for a thing, looked up competitors, found a handful of apps that are similar, which have failed to gain traction. Why would I think mine would be any different?.

fleetwood mac's dreams is such an interesting song from a production perspective. it is ostensibly simple, but there's a some subtle tricks in there, especially around the drum production and the bass. also a weird mid-song tempo slowdown for a few bars that recovers right after.

Another useful one is:. about:blank. This will give you a completely empty browser tab. Then you can right-click "Inspect" then "Edit HTML" on the DOM. A handy way to mock up some quick HTML and see it in real time. Faster/easier than using some 3rd party tool.

of course, this has *no useful features at all*. your text will not be saved anywhere. if you close the tab, restart the browser, etc. your text will be gone. I use this to do things like paste some bit of text in, edit it, then copy it again to go paste it somewhere else.

Random non-ironic pro-tip for ya'll: I often find myself wanting a little scratchpad to type/copy/paste something into, but don't want a full text editor:. data:text/html, <html contenteditable>. will make your browser tab into something you can type into. now make it a bookmark.

i keep thinking i'm going to be a phoenix rising from the ashes but now i'm feeling like the burnt out coals of some grocery store generic brand charcoal in the bottom of a weber grill, just some damp month-old ashes that need to be scraped out so the new fuel can breathe.

The pandemic is "over" except that the hospitalization rate in my area (Multnomah County) is still just as high as the worst rates of 2020. COVID-19 is still an active and present threat. People are still getting sick, getting hospitalized, and dying from it.

great time to be in the oat milk industry. (well, stock performance of $OTLY is pretty dismal, but like, people are really buying a lot of oat milk (14% growth/year), so they need to figure out how to fix that).

humans think they are so smart that the only way to get smarter is to invent some absurd machine that does the same things that we do but MORE. honestly tho we're so dumb we can't even carry on a meaningful conversation with another species. i'd like AI to solve that problem.
