It was back to winning ways with a 170 run victory v Hepworth & Idle. Dave Holt (61) and Tom Cleaver (44) starred in our 197ao. Mark Laycock (5-5) and Dave Wolfe (5-20) then tore through the visitors for 27ao. 🏏☀️

We slipped to narrow 1 wicket defeat today at Sandylands v Skipton C.I. Scott Howarth Hynes scored his 3rd 50 of the season with 57 in our 101ao. Mark Laycock's 6-21 was in vain as CI edged home at 103-9. It was also Mark Laycock's 62nd Thornton career 5 fer.

Scott Howarth Hynes top scored with 74 as we beat Wilsden in the group stage of the Wynn Cup. Jonny Martin scored 43 and Tom Cleaver 40 in our 226-4. Wilsden were then bowled out for 137. Jack Laycock and Joe Wolfe picking up 3 wickets apiece and Ian Holden 2.

We made it 2 league wins from 2 on Saturday beating Sutton by 83 runs. Scott Howarth Hynes (79) and Chris Bowker (39) were the top scorers in our 185ao. Sutton were dismissed for 102 as Ian Holden and Rob Cockell shared 7 wickets... 1/2

Joe Wolfe's 7-28 was the stand out performance in an 8 wicket win v Ingrow in Division 2. Ingrow were bowled out for 71 with Dave Holt (26no) and Scott Howarth Hynes (22) leading Thornton to victory. 🏏☀️

The season belatedly got off to a start yesterday with a Wynn Cup group stage match v @SuttonCC. David Holt 92 and James Mellin 55 saw Thornton reach 203-7 in their 40 overs. Sutton knocked them off for the loss of 6 wickets. Jack Laycock picking up 2-34.

So sad to hear this news. Derek was a good friend of Thornton's Sincere condolences to Derek's family from all at TCC.
We are devastated to advise that we have lost another long standing and popular member of the Club 😞 Derek Winder has sadly passed away following a short illness. Winky was an extremely popular member of the Club and spent many an hour helping to prepare the ground for games.

The season finished on a high as we beat Skipton CI by 172 runs. Jack Laycock 94, Tom Cleaver 43, Ian Holden 5-11 and Dave Wolfe 5-11.

It's the final game of the season tomorrow as we make the short trip to @SkiptonCI, with a 1pm start. Afterwards we'll celebrate a good season back in Division Two, at The Red Lion.

Yesterday saw a nail biting 1 wicket win against promotion chasing Airedale. Matt Bowker 6-37, Scott Howarth Hynes 49 and Dave Holt shepherded the tail home with 43no.

Everyone at Thornton is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Brian Parker. Brian won 4 League titles & 4 Wynn Cups with TCC and was a committee member and fundraiser for many years. He will be sorely missed at Booth Bridge Lane. Our love to Catherine and all the family x
