How much turnover among personnel at the CDC and FDA does Reid imagine happened between Nov1 and Feb1?
She acts like itโs a completely new institution, the old one wiped clean.
@thomaschattwill
Don't think this is as bad as you make it out to be. Trump was perhaps the least trust worthy guy to ever occupy the oval office. So one can understand people who were skeptical over anything he had influence over.
@thomaschattwill
This feels disingenuous. The common denominator in the Trump era was his ability to scandalize public servants and impose his will through them. e.g. Surgeon General, Director of the CDC.
We knew he was trying to rush the vaccine, so skepticism on that front was rational.
@thomaschattwill
These leave out important context. Most of them are from before there was a vaccine (not just FDA approval, before any vaccine was announced ) but Trump was pretending there was.
Pretty different from being anti-vax today.

@benshapiro
Donโt forget that the vaccine approved is not being distributed to the public because there is insufficient availability. (Also, approval would make it vulnerable to liabilities.). The vaccine being distributed currently is still under the EUA without any liability for damage.

I am always amazed at how many times people say the exact opposite of what they said previously and act like it was never said.
@thomaschattwill
Thomas Iโve been wondering - if Trump had been re-elected - would we have seen an anti-vax reversal to what we see now? It became political before even coming out, and liberal people that I know and love might not have taken the vaccine if Trump had won.
