Sir, Just because of these few schools in our state, today many brothers & sisters are not able to celebrate rakhi. We heard about the schools mainly in Patiala, Jalandhar, Mohali etc. are planning to hold classes on this auspicious day. Kindly look into the matter. @AAPPunjab

Lets make Rakhi a day of joy and learning for all children in Punjab. By recognizing its importance, we can help our kids imbibe the values of love, unity, and respect for tradition. Together, we can build a stronger, more culturally aware generation. #Rakhi2025 #PunjabFestivals

In many parts of India & the world, schools close for major festivals to honor local traditions & foster cultural understanding.Punjab should follow this example to ensure our children grow up with a deep appreciation for their rich heritage. #GlobalEducation #CulturalInclusivity

Sir @harjotbains, we urge you to intervene and ensure that private schools in Punjab recognize Rakhi as a holiday, even if its not gazetted. Lets work together to promote a balanced education system that values both knowledge and culture. #EducationMinisterPunjab #PunjabSchools

This issue isnt new—it happens every year.Private schools often prioritize academic schedules over cultural observances, sending a msg that our traditions are less important. This needs to change. Our children deserve an education that includes both academics and cultural learning

Many parents, including myself, are deeply concerned about this trend. Its not just about one day; its about preserving our cultural values for future generations. Schools should respect & acknowledge festivals like Rakhi, to allow families to celebrate together. #ParentConcerns

However, some private schools in Punjab have decided to hold classes on Rakhi, despite it being a Saturday. While its not a gazetted holiday, its cultural importance can't be ignored. Depriving children of this celebration undermines their connection to their traditions. #Schools

Festivals like Rakhi are crucial for children’s cultural education. They teach kids about traditions, family values, and their heritage. By participating in these celebrations, children develop a strong sense of identity and learn to appreciate their roots. #CulturalEducation

Rakhi is more than just a festival; its a celebration of love, protection, & family bond. In Punjab, its a time when sisters tie rakhis on their brothers wrists, symbolizing unity & affection. Its also a day that unites communities and strengthens cultural ties. #CulturalHeritage
