A big thanks to our incredible volunteer who has planted, nurtured and watered our vegetables & flowers throughout the summer. Our planters were donated by @BandQ – a big shout of thanks to them!

Here we have wonderfully fresh Oak Leaf and Lollo Bianca leaves supplied by @CheltIsGrowing, with Chef Sparky and Ops Manager Rosie. And a sausage delivery with a smile from The Gloucester Sausage Company.

It was an exceptionally busy Sat. for the volunteers from Plymstock United Church with 117 people served. The team prepared for 90 so a dash to the shops was needed, not once, not twice, but 3 times to ensure everyone was fed! 3 sleeping bags & a roll mat were also given out. 🙏

Breakfast is served at our Guest Hub Mon - Thurs. We are open for anyone who needs us, with a help-yourself breakfast 10am – 11am and drinks and snacks available throughout the day. Yogurts are available courtesy of @faresharesouthwest and fruit from @aldiuk through @nbrly.

Each of these little sachest contains a tiny drop of liquid. We pop this into an empty spray bottle, top up with water and voila! A whole bottle of surface cleaner for us to use, on worktops around our Donations and Guest Centres and in our kitchen.

Things are often not as expected. We are there to support our Members (people with a conviction) in their search for employment. #bringinghope #newbeginnings #courage #freshstart #employment

Saturday a.m. was the busiest morning to date with 35 people seen, 22 in the 1st 50 mins. Sadly this reflects the high no. of people who are currently #streethomeless. Showers, clean clothes & plenty of food was available + foot care @FeetForgotten. Special 🙏 to Gavin, the cook.

This year @CheltPaintFest took place on 27th and 28th July. One of our Guests shows off his artwork from 2023 (through a project with Amy Freeman of ArtStuff) as well as his creation this year.

We are very grateful to the wonderful staff from @cheltenhampets, Deb, Erica and Dani who recently visited Cheltenham Open Door. Not only did the staff donate a fantastic trolley full of pet food parcels, they also met with pet owners and offered free pet advice.

We understand how important pets are to many of our Guests which is why pets are always welcome at our Guest Centre. Volunteer Sophie even occasionally treats them to a special Doggie Lunch!

Here is volunteer Steve, who runs a Chess Club at our Guest Centre, having a very competitive game of chess with one of our Guests. Steve is a member of @LilleyBrookGolf Club, who have selected Cheltenham Open Door as their charity partner this year.

As part of our commitment to becoming more sustainable, we have installed LED lighting at our Guest Centre. The lights and installation were funded by a grant from @ZCTrust @ZurichInsUK, with whom we are working to become more environmental in our operation.

A huge thank you to our local @sewaday community who always give so generously and selflessly to those in need. Sewa is a Sanskrit word, meaning to sacrifice your time and resources for the benefit of others without wanting anything in return. #homelessness #endhomelessness
