This afternoon was spent doing mandatory safeguarding training which specialised in neglect which is something I'm seeing more commonly now I have families on my caseload.

Today was a normal day I attended my clinic in which we assess 0-5's where there are concerns, usually weight reviews and feeding advice. We have almost a rolling rota of certain children it was lovely to see them and how big they have got in a month!.

I also started in the NHS 5 years ago now! I was firstly a business admin apprentice working in a patient call centre and this made me realise I wanted to be a nurse! #nhs.

Previous to this I worked 50% in outpatients with the most amazing consultants and 50% in a day unit which was mainly blood transfusions for those at end of life. Before this - my first job in health care was on a dementia friendly trauma and orthopaedic ward 🙂.

A bit of background on me🙂.So I was employed to do the nursing associate apprenticeship in the Health visiting team which is a big change for me!.

I have my anatomy and physiology exam in 6 weeks!.Flash cards are being created and I found an amazing anatomy colouring book by John T. Hansen!

This week I have been on 'placement' due to covid its in my current work place. I spent 2 days with the children's community nurses which was amazing and such a new experience!.1 day with the paediatric service observing a neurological clinic.
