Can't stop a migrating salt marsh! Building a DEM for Tangier Island and sampling backyard salt marshes last week. Marshes growing out of houses, paint cans, a fire hydrant, and lots of mowed lawns.

2nd chapter: published! SLR inundation models often use tidal datums to predict future marsh extent which can drastically over or underestimate future marsh area as salinity, slope, and local factors mediate the elevation of conversion:
