Every pirate needs a parrot. All the better if a puppy can do the job. He had a larger than normal hole in his heart so no one else wanted him. I told the breeder that’s the origin story of every great hero’s journey. Naming him Apollo Coehlo.

The word embarrass comes from the root word “imbarricare” which means to block or hinder (like a barricade). That’s exactly what embarrassment does. It builds walls between our inner truth and the outer world. Every time we listen to those voices, the NOISE in our heads gets

If you are convinced that you are only miserable because you haven’t “achieved” enough of your goals let me tell you a secret (from a guy who spent 15 years fixated on making the most amount of money as possible and still felt anxiety no matter how much money was in my bank

Was talking to a buddy doing $10M/yr from his social media. Asked him when it took off. Him: “Easy, when I became crazy consistent.” Me: “Sure, but what worked tactically?” Him: “No you don’t get it. I became so consistent that everyone in my life thought I was crazy. I

I’ve been consistently working out since I was 16 (I’m 36 so 20 yrs+). Started experimenting with peptides (mostly Reta and BPC) about 3 months ago—I don’t think I’ll go back. First pic: 167 Second: 155 Can still bench 330 (so no noticeable muscle loss).

Startup advice will kill you in acquisitions. I’ve been focused on the sell-side of business deals for the past three years but that may change soon based on some crazy “accidental” recent wins. If you’ve tried and failed to buy a deal in the past dm me.

In startups, return on capital wins. One big success pays for the failed bets. In acquisitions, return of capital matters most. One bad deal early can sink you. Protect your downside, limit debt risk, and bet big on the deals that you understand.

Startups thrive in fast-growing markets. Jump off the cliff and build the parachute. No one really knows what they are doing. Do it anyway. Acquisitions demand staying in your circle of competence. Don’t get in without knowing how to get out.

In startups, eat like a cow. Make progress every day on the hardest problem. Activity is encouraged. Keeping moving and breaking things. In Acquisitions, eat like a crocodile. Most months you are actively waiting for the best move. Constant activity clouds your judgement.

In startups, you stay small as long as possible to nail product–market fit. Go too big too fast and it kills you. The leaner and newer the better. In acquisitions the smaller the deal, the riskier it is. Small deals are jobs big deals are assets. Go as big and old as possible.

I volunteer to have 200 pounds taxed from my benchpress. It’s not right that sedentary socialists have to go through life as weaklings—gym gains have discriminated against those who do nothing for far too long.

Talked to a guy today who told me that his business always falls apart without him in the details. I asked whether the business falls apart without him or he falls apart without the constant chaos of his business. Entrepreneurs work 90 hrs to avoid the 9-5 and they also create

We did the interview last week and his story was shocking. Stage 4 melanoma to no evidence of disease. We’ll do the full write up in Cancer Crew in a week.

Two years ago exactly, a guy who owned a decently sized construction business asked me to look at an unsolicited offer from a business buyer. $9M cash and about $5M in an earn out. After I looked at his business I told him the deal was “confiscatory” and the buyer was trying

We all love origin stories. Go to dinner with a new couple and you ask “how did y’all meet?” Listen to an entrepreneurial podcast and it’s all about how the idea first came into being The problem in entrepreneurship is that the financial and lifestyle freedom we all want has
