@wolfejosh It wouldn't be surprising if it's the same old Soviet roadmap that was used in the 60s / 70s.

@bcrypt @trishaepan Overcharged compared to what the insurance told me it was going to cost, followed by a 3-4 month wait to get my money back. Had to nudge them a lot to get it back!.

Interested in DAOs? During the past few weeks I've spent some time researching how crypto will change the way we organize on the internet. I wrote my learnings in an essay on @oneseventwonine. Let me know if you have any feedback or questions!.
You know all those pieces of paper that make up a traditional corporation? They're turning into code. Here's @theomarcu to get you up to speed on DAOs.

When @balajis first encouraged me to write about DAOs in early 2021, I thought they were really awesome, but I did not expect them to gain widespread recognition until 2025+. Half a year later, @economist features explainers on the front page. Crypto moves really really fast.

@paulg Back in 2019 you told me to avoid joining Google as a PM and just join a startup instead if I wanted to learn how to build products. In hindsight it was probably one of the best pieces of advice I ever received!.

@pmarca @that_one_nerdy_ I also couldnโt find anything about โPalpitine Bridge Capitalโ. Is the Sith Lord himself making a comeback in VC bridge rounds?.

@amasad It's never too late! Found this gem a while back and I started reading it for fun. I learned Calculus in Romania which means I was really good at integrals/derivations without actually understanding what it all meant. This book helped a lot with that.

Been using Devin for the past few months. Excited to see it go GA. Examples:.- Devin as a really skilled data analyst (search the web for topic xyz, create an embedding visualization of this dataset, etc.).- Devin as a bug fixer: "Fix this schema change that's affecting prod".
Devin is generally available today! . Just tag Devin to fix frontend bugs, create first-draft PRs for backlog tasks, make refactors, and more. Start building with Devin below:

@robkhenderson Fascinating. This sounds all too familiar to me. My parents shared many similar stories about farmers moving from the countryside into apartment buildings during Romania's own forced urbanization throughout the Communist regime.

@balajis Very precious indeed. My parents still tell me stories about how leaving Romania and traveling abroad before the 1989 revolution was considered a privilege reserved for trusted party insiders. The primary goal of the border guards was to keep people in, not out.

Just imagine if the government used Ramp ๐ฅน.
Imagine a company losing money for 20+ years and failing 7 auditsโCFO fired, right? . Thatโs our government, which spent half its budget deficit on INTEREST. It doesnโt have to be this way. Hereโs how businesses balance profitability+growthโand how government can do the same.

Ramp not only saves you money, but also makes you money too now. All while building one of the most impressive businesses in history.
If youโre reading this, your business is probably earning 0.07% on operating cash. @tryramp is now offering 2.5% โ that's 35ร the national average, and much more on investment accounts. And you can switch in a minute!. Legally, we canโt call it โfree money," but you can.

Seeing a lot of self-doubt in crypto rn. I think there are still a lot of strong reasons to continue being excited about crypto. One of the biggest reasons is the user + dev activity on networks like @farcaster_xyz/@desoprotocol/@LensProtocol. None of it is tied to prices!.

Railway helped us smoothly scale to millions of users while shipping extra fast . Thanks @JustJake @Railway.
Railway is really really good. Being able to deploy straight from a Github repo, detecting a root Dockerfile and using that to build, no need for any complex cicd, will redeploy for every push. Simple custom domain setup and env var management. Incredible developer experience.

Discord > Slack for online communities!. Discord was built for gamers, who meet online first and don't have IRL relationships. This shows up in their product design. Slack was built for companies who wanted a chat client, which assumes all the relationships already exist.
Why are people picking Discord over Slack for community management? For me, it was less to do with the number of community features. The first thing that sold me on Discord is that it has a "Community Server" mode. That made me feel like the product team prioritizes my use case.

i randomly found about the dwarkesh pod (then called lunar society) when it came out in 2020 and my first episode ever was the one @dwarkesh_sp did with tyler. it's amazing to see this come so far! a fantastic conversation.
Episode with @tylercowen is out. We discussed how the insights of Hayek, Keynes, Smith, and other great economists help us make sense of AI, growth, risk, human nature, anarchy, central planning, and much more. Links below. Enjoy!

Today is DAO day! Now DAOs can register as LLCs in the US state of Wyoming. Really excited to see what that means for internet-native organizations.
Tomorrow is DAO day. That's when Wyoming's DAO law comes into effect. And the venerable corporation will never be the same. So it might be a good time to learn what a DAO actually is. This review by @theomarcu should get you up to speed on the basics.

DAOs are generating massive revenue, allocating capital from billion-dollar treasuries & will have their "mainstream moment" this cycle or next. So we've compiled a map of core services (B2D / D2D) that support this new type of org below. Keep an eye on this market! ๐. ๐ช๐๐ค๐
