Thrilled to host partners @eu_echo & @CARE Iraq at our Protection centres in Shariya, Summel & Derabon. Pedro & Cynthia Natenzi saw our work, met our women's committees & the communities we serve.

This project is implemented by The Lotus Flower Peace Centre and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development @BMZ_Bund and supported by GIZ.

👉 The Goal: Empowered stakeholders who can integrate WPS principles into their work and contribute to a more inclusive National Action Plan.

👉 The Need: A major gap exists in implementing the Women, Peace & Security agenda here. 👉 The Solution: Interactive workshops that build knowledge and create bridges. As Najbir also noted, it's vital "to sit at the same table with other NGOs and government representatives."

"This workshop was important for us to gain an in-depth understanding of UNSCR 1325, so we can eventually pass this knowledge to the communities we serve." This powerful feedback from our first participant is why we do this work. But why is this specific training so critical?

✅ Workshop Complete! Our 1st UNSCR 1325 session in Duhok was a success! Our first UNSCR 1325 workshop brought together amazing NGOs and government stakeholders in Duhok for a day of intensive learning on the Women, Peace and Security agenda.

@BMZ_Bund Secondly, the EPSI Project team visited our vocational training sites at Duhok Polytechnic University. They observed our future innovators in action through the Coding Sisters and Solar Sisters programs, which promote employment and social innovation.

@BMZ_Bund First, the SPACE Project team visited our Women, Peace & Security Centre. They met with our incredible team and our Peace Sisters & Brothers, and discussed the ongoing research being conducted under this partnership to strengthen women's participation in fragile contexts.
