This year, we’re excited to introduce the next wave of initiatives embarking on the path to spin-off. Because when good ideas are given room to grow, they can create lasting and meaningful impact for communities.

From cultural movements for climate action to using upcycled tech to revolutionize farming, each spin-off is a chance to focus, adapt, and reach more people. We have spun off four entities to date: Rumbia, Perfect Fit, Magi Farm, and Sobean Coffee.

Through the Next CEO Program, we help both promising ideas as well as proven initiatives at risk of winding down when funding ends to stand on their own, cultivate strong leadership, and deepen their impact.

This ongoing initiative is part of our shared commitment to increasing access to practical, low-cost science tools that support environmental education in rural communities.

Through an interactive mini-workshop, we examined how these tools can enhance understanding of soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable agricultural practices, making scientific concepts more tangible and relevant to daily life.

Our Sol-Lab and Advisory Services team recently joined a series of impactful field visits and regional workshops in Thailand, as part of the HEAL-HAZE and CANBREATHE collaborations, a groundbreaking initiative led by the HEAL Global Research Centre, funded by the Wellcome Trust.

With this expansion, Magi Farm aims to process up to 400 tons of food waste annually by 2025, up from 110 tons last year. We’re excited to see Magi Farm continue to grow and contribute to a more resilient and sustainable food system.

The new space is four times larger than the previous one and supports more integrated operations, including black soldier fly (BSF) maggot production, office space, and an area for educational visits.

As a result, farmers are not only able to work more safely and efficiently but also earn a higher price for their beans. Together, these solutions are helping build a more sustainable and rewarding future for cacao farming in Indonesia.
