I think there are 3 "tiers" to being able to say you "made it". Assuming you can always get a guaranteed 5% on your cash and you live in a moderate cost of living area, these are the "made it" tiers IMO:. Tier 1: Time Freedom. $2M at 5% interest = $100k/yr. The time freedom tier.
