Join us to congratulate JaBryan Pegues on a successful M.S. thesis defense! 🎉. JaBryan's work centered around new site index equations for longleaf pine planted on marginal agricultural lands and tree-level growth efficiency relationships. 🌲

We have a new Ichauway record! 🏆️🎉 . Our Herpetology Lab recently captured a pine snake (Pituophis melanoleucus) that measured 5'11", surpassing the previous record of 5'10"! 🤯

While many of our native groundcover species are blooming beautifully, the butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) stands out brilliantly in the landscape. Its bright colors and knack for nectar production attract pollinators, like this zebra swallowtail (Eurytides marcellus)! 🦋

Our Plant Ecology Lab kicked off a new experiment to explore how land management affects seed fate and understory plant regeneration.🌱 Step one? Monitoring bird dispersal behavior using artificial perches, seed traps, and game cameras. 🐦️📸
