7. If I tell myself "This isn't a Halloween movie" and just enjoy it as its own standalone slasher and exploration of survivor's trauma, it's incredibly well made. As a Halloween film, its depictions of Loomis and Michael are blasphemous.

The shift between his character in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith is his loyalty and love becoming more possessive and conditional. It’s why I’ve long argued he’s a good person in Attack of the Clones and a bad person in Revenge of the Sith, even before his turn.

Anakin’s core value in the prequels is putting the people who he loves, who depend on him, before himself. Shmi, Padme, his Clone Troopers. Every evil act he commits is in the name of preserving their lives. Vader in the OT had no such concern for anyone’s life.

I mean, I’m a fan of him as a meme, but as an actor and a human being, he’s pretty shitty. I will say Thor: Love & Thunder would have been twice as funny if he was Hercules.
