Calling all soil lovers 🤎 . Soil texture triangle watercolor palettes filled with their first layer of all natural soil mineral watercolors.

I’m just going to place these heptagon palettes on every page of Heidi Gustafson’s new Book of Earth 🤤 .

Here we dyed these 1 cm cubes with Mississippi pink clay, goethite (yellow), hematite (red), burnt sienna (brownish), and green earth plus a splash of viridian b/c the green wasn’t transferring well (particles were too large). Stay tuned for the artwork w/ my kiddos.

My son, Finley, asked if we could get some blocks to create pixel art. Naturally, I jumped at the opportunity - any time my kids want to engage in a hands on activity - off a screen - it’s a quick yes.

Oh hello. This pan of dry clay is too good to keep to myself. I’m not always interested in receiving soils from somewhere I haven’t been - but when Bailey (@bailwinkle.periwinkle) offered to send me some some of this striking pink 💖 Mississippi clay - I was smitten.
