Do you know what’s been the biggest upgrade in my dev life these past few weeks? Letting myself write messy code in the first round. If it works - then I make it clean. I used to struggle trying to write clean code from the start. That was such a waste of time.

Index tuning is often a symptom. If your system needs 10 indexes to answer simple analytical questions, the problem is probably architectural.

You can’t outsource your critical thinking. So don’t blindly accept AI code.

It still surprises me how many developers pick databases based on comfort, not requirements. I’ve been in this field for years, and it keeps happening. New project? Same DB as the last one. Does it actually fit the workload, the access patterns, the scaling needs? …we’ll worry

Today I realized I often jump into “optimize mode” way too early. The app didn’t need to be faster. I just needed to remove one unnecessary step in the flow. Embarrassingly simple in hindsight.

Half of engineering is just unlearning the instinct to over-engineer. Stop building microservices for your five-person side project. Ship the simple version. If it breaks, congrats, you actually have users 😉

I love a good SaaS flex, but let’s be real: Posting revenue without the chaos behind it is basically filtered Instagram for founders. Looks effortless. Isn’t. Young entrepreneurs should see the whole story, not just the shiny numbers.

Funny thing about moving into software architecture: You think it’s all diagrams and decisions… then you realize half the job is just explaining why something shouldn’t be built 😅

My favourite definition of software architecture: „software architecture is the stuff that’s hard to change later”

The funny thing about “AI killed the coding bottleneck” is that… it didn’t. It just moved it in to code review.

You ever pick up a new tool and immediately get a little mad you didn’t use it sooner? Yeah. That’s me with React Query right now.

One of the best parts about being a developer: You don’t just complain about bad tools - you build better ones 😉 Honestly, what other job lets you do that?

Perspective. That’s what it’s all about. You’re right - in your own view.

I finally built CI/CD pipelines this week. I always avoided them - thought I didn’t need to learn it. Then I got chosen in a team draw. Guess I had no choice anymore! 😅
