#extracellularvesicles from milk (either human, bovine, or formula) have a regulatory role in intestinal barrier function. Interestingly, in this study #milkEVs boost intestinal permeability for nanoparticles and macromolecules.

Sheep milk also contains #extracellularvesicles, including #exosomes. Just like in other species (human, bovine, goat), these #milkEVs suppress inflammation in the gut.

Super interesting: moms living on a farm have a different breast milk composition (which might have an effect on their baby's). Traditional agrarians had the highest immune protein levels, microbiome diversity and richness, followed by farm and non-farm.

Another example that #milkEVs withstand the acidity and degradation in the gastrointestinal tract, as the membrane integrity of EVs is unaffected by gastrointestinal fluid buffer (in contrast, hepatocellular cancer cell EVs were disrupted after digestion).
