As it can have such high impacts, the authors highlight the importance of not leading the general public into believing IIT to be a well-established and leading theory of consciousness, way before it really is. Until then, they suggest, we should call IIT pseudoscience.

In this new paper, the authors mention that even the findings that seem to be in favour of IIT do not support the theory as a whole but rather serve to prove some specific predictions only.

Is there a single interdisciplinary cognitive science or are there only cognitive sciences in which researchers stay mainly in their respective fields but refer to others only when it is necessary? What are your thoughts and why? Feel free to mention them!
