Some of yall need to be outside (and not the ratchet “outside” yall love). Being outside in nature is half of our original culture. It’s a large part of our ancient spirituality.

Someone said too many ppl underestimate me and don’t acknowledge my true worth. They treat me like I’m Lupe Fiasco when I’m l really Nas. Both are severely underrated for their contributions and talents, except Nas does get props, yet it’s not on the level it should be.

Those plantations that you say your ancestors were from were built on top of American Indian towns and initially they took the people who lived in them and other indigenous towns as slaves— way before they took significant amounts of Africans to British North America.

🌿 Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) Roots was traditionally eaten by the Powhatan nation as food and medicine—for blood sugar support and digestion. It was a winter survival plant of high value. #PowhatanEthnobotany

🌼 Pokeweed (Phytolacca americana) Despite its toxicity, Cherokee used very small amounts of young shoots or root for arthritis and immune issues—under strict guidance. #RespectThePlant

Many black Americans are indigenous Americans but they let the dna tests say their grandparents are liars. Genealogy proves them right. #nograndmakillers

One of the most important things many of us missed out on when we were misclassified & stripped of our true heritage was our spirituality. The same spirituality that was outlawed and feared and replaced with theirs, which should tell you something about the potency it.

It’s a shame that the people who are the most “anti black” against Melanated American Indians are black folks. They can’t understand the fact that our highly melanated skin doesn’t denounce our indigenous ancestry and cultural identity, nor are we saying we are not like y’all.

The movie Sinners is full of American Indian spirituality, dances and music. But they only showed African ancestors, when many of those people had indigenous American ancestors, as well, or was fully indigenous like Charlie Patton (who was mentioned many times in the movie).

Yall do know that Charlie Patton and Muddy Waters (hoodoo practiconers) were pioneers of Blues in the Mississippi Delta. They both were Choctaw/Chatah. Yet no one is talking about that in relation to the movie Sinners.
