The children have thoroughly enjoyed their own Christmas Day! They began with making their own Christmas dinner and finished off with a quiz and a hot chocolate! They enjoyed spending time together on their last days as a team!

The children have thoroughly enjoyed their graduation day at the Leaf centre! They began with bacon sandwiches and then continued by making a selection of savoury and sweet scones! Finally the children finished off by celebrating their graduation and spending time together!

On Thursday, the children at the Leaf centre went to see Snow White! I don’t know who enjoyed it more, the children or the teachers!

The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about and participating in this year’s challenge yourself for children in need. The children took part in activities such as exercising, baking and arts and crafts all with an outlook on challenging themselves (and of course in pyjamas).

The children were very respectful on Remembrance Day and spent the day exploring the meaning behind it. The children observed a 2 minute silence and then explored new vocabulary in a haiku poem. They then combined art and geography to understand the allies that worked together.

The pupils have learnt strategies they can use to resolve conflict. They were taught by Heather and Susan from CRESST and thoroughly enjoyed participating in each activity. The children have had chances to use these strategies during lunch and break time.

The children have enjoyed creating their own vegetable pizzas from scratch. They use Greek yoghurt and flour to create the door which emphasises on their sensory needs. After this the children use different vegetables to create their own healthy pizza!

The children enjoyed spending time with other children and playing boccia! They used their teamwork and resilience skills to work together to make the leaf centre proud!

The children discussed the importance of mental health by participating in activities like yoga, mindfulness colouring and playing games with their friends. They came to school in comfortable clothing and enjoyed pizza tasting and deepening their understanding of their emotions!

The children explored forest school and looked at the living creatures that call it home! They explored the pond, the bug hotel and the tower to see what habitats they hold….

The children at the leaf centre thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their family and friends raising money for the amazing people at macmillan cancer research! They are lots of homemade baked cakes and looked at basic skills such as good sleep hygiene and emotion management!

The children at the leaf thoroughly enjoyed their school visit to Wentworth farm yesterday! They linked their science learning alongside their topic of “growth and change” to enable them to pull out key facts to link back to learning at school. I think the smiles say it all…
