Malaria remains a major public health challenge in Malawi and globally —children under five and pregnant women made up nearly 80% of the 597,000 malaria deaths worldwide in 2023. Without prompt treatment, it can rapidly escalate to severe illness and death.

Almost 300,000 mothers die in childbirth or pregnancy, and over 2 million babies die before they reach 1 month. Most of these are in remote, low-income communities. Community health workers bring antenatal and neonatal services to their doorsteps. #HopefulFutures means #proCHWs
