On 19 January we held our first THAT Governance Conference. The conference brought together Members, Directors, Local Academy Board Members, Headteachers and members of the Trust Senior Leadership Team. The theme of this year's conference was "Securing Impact".

Now that the school year has drawn to a close, we would like to take a moment to look back at the past 12 months at The Howard Academy Trust. As always, we thank our staff for their hard work throughout the year, and hope that everyone is having an enjoyable and restful summer.

We were also fortunate to be able to welcome three external speakers to this year's event. We would like to thank David Cameron, Kirsty Jordan and Ross Miller for their inspiring talks around the value of education, being mindful of mental health, and creating resilient mindsets.

On Friday 7th July, we held our annual Staff Conference for all members of staff across our academies. This conference allowed staff the opportunity to network with their respective department leads in other academies, and to share knowledge.

On 30th June, we held our long awaited THAT Staff Awards ceremony, following a record 750 nominations across our academies. The event, held at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, was a huge success, allowing us the opportunity to celebrate the hard work of our staff.

Earlier in the year, Ollie Slack, former Assistant Head of @DeanwoodTHAT, sadly passed away. One of Ollie's ambitions was to develop an outdoor reading library and garden. We have launched a fundraiser to make this a reality, and to continue his legacy. https://t.co/mxOxyY2X6x

An enormous congratulations to Claire Adshead, EYFS Lead at @ThamesViewTHAT, for her Silver Teacher of the Year Award at this year's The Pearson National Teaching Awards!

We received a record number of 750 nominations for our Trust Awards this year! We would like to thank everyone in our Trust community that took the time to nominate, and we look forward to celebrating with shortlisted nominees later this term!

They discussed the new catering providers that have been providing meals in our schools since April, and had a discussion around the Trust Equality Objectives. The Pupil Parliament look forward to pupils from The Abbey School joining the next meeting.

Last term, pupils from our Pupil Parliament met with Mr McColgan, Chief Executive of The Howard Academy Trust, to speak about the work that they have been carrying out in their own schools as Pupil Leaders.
