It seems Apple's designers were also interested in a data-based journal.
@louisbarclay Dude, mind sync! In 2018-20, I conceptualized a tool called Retrospective, which is an automated diary based on data ("records").

Yeah, ChatGPT is cool and stuff, but for a few years already I can hum a random melody into Google Voice Search and it identifies my earworm in 5 out of 10 cases. Talking about a real pain reliever.

I'm looking at https://t.co/HBSDNewXEz, trying to find a button where I can add a review for a restaurant. Help? Is it not there (yet)? What's the point? #osm Cool blockchain idea though.

I've just been told by a reliable source that this "perceived performance" is a good UX practice. It makes apps feel faster. It's confusing though, when you're trying to debug something that should be loading, but never actually loads ๐

Here's a funny module: NProgress. It's an animating progress bar that you can simply .start() when something starts loading, and stop when finished. Which means that by default, it's totally making up the actual loading progress. https://t.co/Yv6gYBARhE

@kdenlive I think it's crazy that one would have to buy some 200$+ Pro Apple or Adobe tool to do something simple that iMovie can't handle... FOSS for the win! Also still using another KDE suite app, @digiKamSN, on a Mac. Great piece of software too.

Just blurred a little section of a bug demo video with @kdenlive. On a M1 Mac. Support isn't even advertised. I remember using Kdenlive 8y ago on Linux, already then more powerful than iMovie. It used to crash all the time. But not today! Really cool... ๐ Shot them a few bucks!

Then again, Google is more complete on business & place information (so far). But its automatic personalization and minimal map style could flatten your worldview, both for good and bad. Takeaway: vary your maps diet!

In general: OpenStreetMap often has detailed data of actual roads, forest tracks and physical reality that Google doesn't have or show. This is very useful for slower forms of transportation.

It turns out a very ambitious bridge project is under construction, and I had no idea. I only saw the westernmost part of it so far

I like discovering differences between @openstreetmap and Google Maps in my area. Compare these two:

Excited about this launch, especially now that the days are getting shorter and the nights cooler! ๐ From now onwards, it's possible with @slowbytravel to plan a secret hiking trip ๐ฅพ and choose to sleep indoors! ๐ก
