Not an easy task picking up the Pectoral Sandpiper at Freiston Shore RSPB but once you're on it there's no mistaking it even if it is a little distant from the viewing ramp @RareBirdAlertUK

Delighted to be at Paxton Pits this evening for the Friends of PPNR summer BBQ to celebrate 30 years of the Friends club and the work that goes in to running this fantastic nature reserve from the volunteers that run the VC to those who put in the hours for the surveys Great job!

Much Chiffchaff activity at PaxtonNR today with at least 25 calling as they moved through the shrubbery around the A1 lakes and with around 15 Blackcap amongst 'em it was an enjoyable watch - 3 Green Sandpiper and a Hobby were the other highlights

With the rain we've had last few days I thought I'd give Ouse Wash RSPB another go and while there's now water from Stockdales Hide there's only a small hint of wader passge with 5 Ruff & a Green Sandpiper viewable plus 43 Lapwing and the summering Whooper Swans

Probably an age thing but my enthusiasm for getting out when "thundery showers" is very much in evidence is zero 💦🌧🌩.
