As long as you align yourself with people of the same intent, I believe that is the ultimate key to success.

If you want to make a difference, you have to accept that no solution is perfect, and many times things are less than ideal, but that's life. We try to reach outcomes the best we can.

This is a very uncomfortable position to take because there are many organizations that have done terrible things. But at the end of the day, time moves on and people do the best they can.

I think a lot about balance, pros and cons, cost vs benefit. For example. Google manipulates the public. However, their IT search results are the best and they provide free, US-based email, drive, etc. for millions of people.

What if rather than trying to get the flag, I just spent a week perfecting the enum and exploitation for each new technique? Then when I encounter a new variation, I can work through it independently rather than struggle to search for solutions.

Like, in the 100+ boxes I've done, I remember the kill chain. But I still suck at manually exploiting web vulns. What good does that do me? I remember getting stuck and looking at a solution. I would research the solution but quickly move on.

Plaforms like HTB provide good exposure to techniques. But, I wonder how much knowledge is remembered when you're not practicing and studying a technique in depth. Why repeat the kill chain when you can go deep. I guess finding depth with utility is hard.

If you're into IT or cyber, let's connect. Introduce yourself in the comments. I'm an infrastructure/systems engineer who works a lot with on-prem Linux and devops. I'm also very interested in cybersecurity. Former dev. #SocialSaturday #OpenToConnect

I wish tech people would just be like. "You know what? This is good. This UI will stay this way forever. The only updates we'll release will be bug fixes". But no. Tech people always changing where I click. It's stressful and super duper annoying +_+.

Just remember. Even if you use Linux, you still have to deal with the terrible websites we've come to know every day +_+. RIP. PS - Firefox now has AI. I came back from LibreWolf to escape the CAPTCHAs. However, back to LibreWolf again?...

Read Chapter 4 of my RHCSA cert book on working with text files. It's pretty unchallenging, which I suppose is a good thing. Doesn't compare to grinding on HTB. However, I'm getting this cert just to prove to myself that I know what I know...

Installing Discord on Rocky Linux is not a good time. I tried to go an "easy" route by using snapd, since the default for Discord is a deb, which doesn't work for RPM distros. Snapd has literally been installing for 5 minutes. Maybe I'll use the tarball...

Got Rocky Linux installed as my daily. A slight learning curve, but not too bad compared to my previous Debian daily driver. I got XFCE installed as my WM so everything is super familiar. I love that about Linux. The freedom to choose. @TG01_Actual #linux

I still have a bit of work to do, but it's looking like the core capabilities for 3 of the data sources are complete! I'll be running some performance benchmarks for these engines over the first half of the week, but I'm hoping to offer these as standalone datasources (via API)
