Incorrect. Trans women are seen as whichever thing can be used to hurt us the most in any given moment.
As a example: There have been trans women who were arrested for exposing their breasts in public (something seen as unacceptable for women only) and then put in a men's jail.
the targets aren’t seen by bigots as women and they’re not being hated as women, they’re being hated as feminine men. the bigots don’t hate them because they’re women, the bigots hate them because they’re men in their eyes.

As transfems we're so heavily sexualised (by society, other queers and ourselves) that if a cis guy is friends with trans girls it's automatically assumed that he's doing it for sexual reasons. I think it's not only incredibly unfair to them but actually further alienates us.
