Incorrect. Trans women are seen as whichever thing can be used to hurt us the most in any given moment.
As a example: There have been trans women who were arrested for exposing their breasts in public (something seen as unacceptable for women only) and then put in a men's jail.
the targets aren’t seen by bigots as women and they’re not being hated as women, they’re being hated as feminine men. the bigots don’t hate them because they’re women, the bigots hate them because they’re men in their eyes.
anti-DIY trans people when you tell them that the average autistic NEET trans girl knows more about trans endocrinology than 90% of practicing endocrinologists
@keffals
I wouldn't call people bigots for wanting to play it, but I think that buying it when you already know about JKR's transphobia is a failure to show basic solidary and a lot of trans people understandably won't trust you to actually be on their side when the stakes are higher
I don't have anything interesting of my own to plug, but a friend of mine has zero money for food or bills until she gets her paycheck next week and could do with a little help making it until then.
When Vaush corrected Riley on her misgendering of doe Riley's response was to say "I'll debate you on gender in the future" rather than start using the correct pronouns.
Still marked green on Shinigami Eyes btw
I think a lot of us feel pressured to do the whole polyamory thing just because it's so common in our spaces and monogamy is basically treated as being straggot coded.
Poly isn't a good fit for a lot of people and that's okay. Do what feels right for you.
Most of the anarchists I know are queer, neurodivergent or disabled (often a combination of these), to claim that anarchists are insulated from negative outcomes is just ignorant. A lot of us became anarchists because we were repeatedly let down by those promising to help us.
@EuphoriTori
I think transphobic harassment is going to become a massive problem very quickly, I've already got a few accounts set up on other platforms pending a potential migration
As transfems we're so heavily sexualised (by society, other queers and ourselves) that if a cis guy is friends with trans girls it's automatically assumed that he's doing it for sexual reasons. I think it's not only incredibly unfair to them but actually further alienates us.
i think since both "E will make you attracted to men" and "T will make you attracted to men" are both the stereotypes, i think this says more about who is the subject of all desire under our system, and how marginalized gender people negotiate their desire for this position
I don't want my autism to be "solved". Firstly the choice of language implies that it's a problem (it isn't) and secondly it's something I intrinsically *am*. I simply wouldn't be the same person without my interactions with the world being filtered through my neurodiversity.
As transfeminine people we are treated as either men or women depending on which can be used to hurt us the most in any given situation, and it can flip from one moment to the next.
It is a core component of transmisogyny.
Third-Sexed Transfeminist ⚢ 'Dulhaniyaa' OUT NOW!!
People call us men while treating us in a manner that is consistent with how they treat women. We are subject to misogyny while being denied the language to actually describe what we are experiencing, and how we are oppressed.
We are expected to simply take the abuse.
@TheOmniLiberal
"Unrestricted validation will inevitably face a case in which it is harmful. Worse, it will still feel subconsciously kind regardless of actual impact. Social media exacerbates this issue."
The notion of "trans leaders" should be entirely abandoned. Stop putting trans women on pedestals, expecting perfection from them and then casting them out when they show that they're ultimately fallible people who are just as capable of making mistakes as you are.
Wish I was there, it looks fun!
It's a dyke march in NYC in the middle of summer of course people are gonna go topless, it's been legal for women to do so there since 1992.
I'm a disabled autistic transfemme. Due to a huge increase in cost-of-living I'm struggling to pay my bills and afford basic transition costs, I'm also trying to save up enough money to move back home but I'm struggling to even cover basics. Please help!
