🌿 Diving & planting for water quality! Our Scientific Dive Unit teamed up with @Center4AqSci & @teamupstream to plant Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) in the Delaware River's back channel near Petty Island.

In just 10 days, UA ran 12 trips aboard the chartered vessel, Escape, welcoming students from @CamdenSchoolsNJ and @Camdencsn for on-water educational experiences! We also held 2 evening cruises for partner orgs and educators to spread the word about Firefly!🛥️🛶

Last week, UA student ambassadors Bella and Noah were filmed by @DiscoveryEd for a video about urban waterways in Camden, NJ! We are so grateful to @subaru_usa ,our partner and one of the funders of the Camden Education Program, for connecting us with @DiscoveryEd

Yesterday, UA joined @NewJerseyDEP, local officials and community leaders to honor CCMUA for its work to protect public health by reducing combined sewer discharges and localized flooding through green infrastructure improvements. Congratulations CCMUA!

2023 Water and Environment Grantee Update: The Foundation recently visited Thomaston, ME, to tour @teamupstream’s Firefly, a solar education vessel. It will provide on-water experiential experiences on the Delaware River. #AWCF #KeepCommunitiesFlowing

This weekend, UA co-hosted our Choptank 2.0 kayak expedition with @ShoreRivers . We gathered a powerhouse group of scientists, policymakers, federal and state government employees, and NGOs to explore the future of Bay conservation and the vital need to be bold and optimistic.

Last week, UA ran a 2-day paddling trip of the Cooper and Delaware River’s. We reconnected with old friends and welcomed new ones to the Cooper River Water Trail. Signs are currently being installed and participants got to use the signage along the trail for the first time!

Last week, we spent the evening aboard Escape, celebrating the long and full career of John Brady, Delaware River Rat! We celebrated with him and watched a collection of films he created about the various creeks that flow into the Delaware River. Thank you to all who joined us!

Last week, UA hosted a 3-day expedition paddling the entirety of the Brandywine River in DE & PA. We had a great and fruitful time thanks to all of our partners: @DENatureSociety @hagleymuseum @BranConservancy @the_BRRT @StroudCenter @nature_delaware And several more!

Join us Thursday, Sept 12 - Saturday, Sept 14th to paddle the Brandywine River! This paddling expedition is designed to initiate support and partnerships for the Brandywine Education Program in anticipation of the Delaware River watershed B-WET funding.

Join UA and @ShoreRivers this Wednesday, August 28th at The Big Owl in Grasonville, MD, for Green Drinks! From 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, mingle on the docks at the bar or on the H.M. Krentz skipjack. This year’s Green Drink’s will be hosted in honor and memory of Pat Stuntz.
