Been thinking a lot and I reject the idea of allyship. It is a passive act. Standing alongside is ok, even good, but just not enough. Each of us, all of us have to be stridently, belligerently anti-racist. There is no other way.

I hesitated before sharing in a tweet how I knew Justin. I have seen attempts to airbrush his sexuality away, so I think it is relevant to say how I knew him. Too much of our LGBTQ history has been lost, is hidden or ignored. I did not want to be a part of that.

5 yr old tells me that she had a big argument in the playground with a boy who insisted that only a boy & girl get married. She was so confused why he couldn’t understand that boys can get married to boys and girls to girls if they loved each other. Her little outraged face! 😍
