Funny to me the popularity of the idea that nothing will change. Stripe L1 lmao. Yeah, blockchains don’t matter and won’t transform the commerce and payments space, they’re just infrastructure. Just like cloud infrastructure and the internet didn’t change anything about commerce.

There is no broader adoption of decentralized crypto without privacy-preserving protocols. Not just p2p decentralized stablecoins on decentralized chains, which would be the most achievable cypherpunk holy grail, but the broader defi ecosystem as well. I fear in the meantime.

The arc of freedom is long, but it bends toward justice. IMO a lukewarm outcome. Could be a lot worse, should be a lot better. Certainly it is a lot better of an outcome than I would have expected when the case started. That 5year maximum will likely be much less and Storm will.
