These stories are our heritage and our birthright. They belong to us now, and can inspire us in a very special way. The further back we go, the closer we draw to the source—the wellspring at which the cup of fantasy is filled—and the more we court its truly supernatural muses.

A very close friend of mine is not a reader, and especially not of 19th century literature. But he recently took a chance on my (insistent) recommendation of MacDonald's sympathetic & surreal Lilith. He is now developing a point-and-click-style adventure game based in that world.
