Sometimes I use my iPhone, maybe change a setting, and I think back to my very first iPhone, the 3G and I remember how few settings there were, so few apps, so simple yet complete it was and I just think it's truly incredible how much this device has matured over 15 years.

Just showed someone the "Ctrl + Shift + Command + 4" on Mac shortcut. Captures a screenshot with your cursor but doesn't save it as a file – instead it's instantly puts on your clipboard as an image. It blew their mind. What Mac shortcuts do you use that are secretly awesome? 💻.

Huh. There's just one thing I miss about the touch bar, the volume button itself indicated whether sound was muted or not. Didn't realise I'd gotten used to that one nicety.

Pro motion on M1 Macbook Pro feels more impactful than on iPhones or iPads to me. Perhaps because iOS has always been quite smooth so the jump/difference for macOS feels more clear? And the screens are bigger.

It amuses me greatly that Jon Batiste sneaks in video game music on the outro's of the Stephen Colbert show listen for Zangief's theme from Street Fighter.

Several examples are given of bugs popping up in Safari which aren't addressed for months. Or issues that have been left untouched for 4+ years. Would be fascinating to see a comparison of how long it takes similar bugs to be fixed in the native side of iOS.

For the game design here, I was aiming for something that would feel like the Z-targeting combat from the 3D Zelda’s. Distilled into a simple swipe to move, tap to attack and taunt gameplay.

This is actually my first experiment with the new 3D features in @ConstructTeam. Pretty cool to see how they’ve added 3D to a historically 2D engine with very simple APIs. Nice work @AshleyGullen.

Taking a break for a week

Watching the second season of the Witcher. Honestly I can’t understand where anyone is in the show. It feels like characters teleport between locations and there’s a real lack of time/distance travelled. Just can’t follow it.
