The only beat I can find the courage to play today is called ‘Othaiadi’ which is typically played to announce someone’s death or performed at a funeral. #StanSwamy I learnt this groove from an online interview of Parai artist N. Deepan. I am not an expert on Parai drumming. 🙏🏽

With two EP releases this year, I am struggling to find answers to many difficult questions related to my arts practice and the following two questions in particular have been a lot on my mind lately- - What is the purpose of my art ? - Is my art having an impact in society ?
