Some artists don’t even get support from their own families about their music. If they kept going despite that, why would they care about a random person’s opinion online?

i went to an artist before and offered to help on their album and even executive produce it.. they tried to charge me $1,000,000 to do it.
fast forward 2 years later
now they fell off
tiktok is legit blowing songs up and making unknown artists and their music known and people still afraid to get on there because they don’t wanna be labeled a “tiktok” artist
i don’t get how people think we all gatekeeping some super big secret that just magically “puts you on”
it’s called 10+ years of hard work.
0 vacations. no going out. no partying. just working and always trying to be 6+ months ahead at all times.
🤷♂️
the truth is.
you are getting older, and the shit you got hip to when you were younger is changing and always constantly evolving. you have to change with it. nothing is ever going to stay the same. every genre evolves.
your team and the people you surround yourself with in music is so important, it doesn’t matter if you’re the best player in the league.. if you don’t have a good team helping you along the way. you probably won’t be here long.
if you are a talented artist, iron sharpens iron.
you should want to surround yourself with the best producers, the best songwriters, the best marketing team, the best stylists, etc.
good can always be better, & always expand your own knowledge.
back in the day you had to really grind at this shit and love it. make real sacrifices with your time and only the best of the best made it.
people start now for 3 weeks and get discouraged they got no deal.
i made beats for 6 years with 0 placements.
and for my creators
stop giving a fuck about other people’s opinions.
i’m apart of big ass songs. every single time when one of them dropped SOMEBODY online hated it or had some super negative shit to say about it.
it didn’t stop it from becoming successful.
do what u love
shits wild… in todays age if you don’t have labels hitting you mad early you prolly doin something wrong. they jumping on anything and anyone with 1% of talent right now.
i’m talking no listeners. no views. just a drop of image. A&Rs in they DM’s tryna stay close just incase.
i’ve seen yes men ruin so many major artists and projects.
if the people around you are afraid to be honest with you in fear of losing their spot
you can’t listen to them, at all.
people always gonna hate or shit on something they don’t understand
do this shit for yourself and you ain’t ever gone care who rocks wit you or not
just build with those who do
there’s too many music industry experts on social media and youtube who actually aren’t in the music industry and know nothing about it other than speculation.
just the blind leading the blind
just because you don’t like an artist or their sound doesn’t mean they need to change to make you happy, means you need to find somebody who you like and quit worrying about shit you don’t.
& ya favorite “underground” artist has probably been signed to a label for the past 1-3 years & has had more poured into them marketing & help wise than some mainstream artists… but fans wanna fit in and admitting you like “mainstream” artists is so corny. so everybody
i been here since 2017 and i’ve survived every era by consistently working and developing new artists… not just getting a big record and getting big artists to get on my beats.
it’s never been easier to make music
when i started there was very few kits, 0 tutorials and very very few VSTs fr.
you can start making beats tomorrow and in 1 week have everything it took me 10 years to accumulate now.
BTW.
ANYONE can go to a guitar center or best buy and purchase podcast equipment.
just because you can amplify your opinion doesn’t mean it holds any value.
for anyone that disagrees with me, i welcome and challenge you to come to the studio with me to make a song. let’s see
IDK who needs to hear it
but the universe doesn’t revolve around you.
there’s people who love shit you hate and “don’t get”
same way there’s people who hate the shit you probably love and don’t get how anyone else doesn’t love it as much as you do.
that’s life.
people get too attached to time periods and eras
how do you enjoy anything new if you consistently comparing shit to the past and the memories and nostalgia that comes with it
i’ve sit back and let people think i create industry plants on the daily my whole career. truth is. i’m just really good at developing artists and i love doing that, as a record label owner.. that IS my job. find artists & help. people just don’t understand it, & that’s okay.
since the beginning of music generations before have always critiqued and judged the current state of music and talk about how bad music is becoming
either adapt or become old
whenever i say “im up looking for artists” that doesn’t mean send your music in the comments im going thru it…
im just personally up looking for new music to listen to.. ON MY OWN
but people be taking that shit so personal
anyways. that’s my rant on industry help and industry planting. just so you know tho. everytime you see somebody making an industry plant argument or calling somebody one 9/10 they are fucking clueless and don’t understand
ARTIST
DEVELOPMENT.
y’all have a good day fr. ☝️
past 2 years i been tryna like every song i know on spotify so i can just pass the account to my son 1 day with like 30,000+ songs and have him go crazy
is there a social media platform that exists that doesn’t make me feel like i’m being shoved some promo or something to buy in my face like every 2 seconds
everybody wanna be an insider and know insider knowledge & industry gossip, what’s going on behind the scenes and shit
do y’all even like actually enjoy music fr anymore
