🧵Thread on how @Tj_williams3 grew up right before the eyes of Wichita State fans to help the Shockers pull out a top-100 win on the road behind the redshirt freshman. It's still early, but so much promise shown so far this season from the @WHtsHoops grad.

And it's only fitting for Williams to help close out the win for WSU on D. UNI also liked its side of the Smith/Williams matchup and they clear out to let him go 1-on-1 against the freshman. Williams stands tall & forces him to finish over length. WSU gets the stop and the win.

Another had-to-have-it bucket scored by Williams in OT and it goes back to his roots as an instinctual cutter. He's not a big threat from 3, so instead of camping out in corner, Williams dives in when Giles attacks. Great read by KG to dump off and TJW finishes key 3-point play.

In OT, @KaronBoydd & @Tj_williams3 came up with this on the fly where Boyd set a little rub screen to help get Williams good position on the push-down. The first time, UNI's help (Schwieger) makes a great play to swat shot. The second time, help is late & Williams scores inside.

WSU goes back to the Williams push-down twice in the final 3 minutes and the freshman comes up big twice. So much poise in both: handling the double to find Gray for the 3, then working a fifth-year senior in the post, setting him up to get back to the left hand for the finish.

Williams didn't always have success in the matchup, however. You can see him try to attack it two times in a row and come up empty both times during WSU's collapse. Right after this is when Paul Mills challenged Williams and told him he was shrinking. That's when fuse was lit.
