8/ So, Was It an Inside Job? 💰 The attack was too smooth. 🕵️‍♂️ The hacker knew Bybit’s internal systems. 🖥️ They bypassed multisig flawlessly. 👀 No clear external breach has been found. It’s not confirmed, but there’s a strong case that someone on the inside made this possible.

7/ Counterpoint: It Could Be Just Lazarus Group Lazarus is infamous for hacks like the $600M Ronin exploit. They’re masters of social engineering. It’s possible they tricked all four signers separately… but that’s a crazy level of coordination.

6/ Where’s the External Breach Evidence? So far, no phishing campaign or external exploit has been confirmed. Bybit’s CEO, Ben Zhou, even speculated that Safe itself was compromised—but Safe denied this. If there’s no external breach, what’s left? Internal access.

5/ Analyst Adam Cochran’s Theory There are two possible insider scenarios: • A high-ranking Bybit insider got bribed or blackmailed • Malware got planted internally, maybe by a careless or complicit employee Both explain how the hacker got past multisig security so cleanly.

4/ Insider Hacks Happen ALL THE TIME 2022 FTX hack ($477M): Alleged ex-employee involvement. LockBit ransomware: Known for bribing insiders to gain access. Could Bybit have had a rogue employee—or someone who got coerced?

3/ They Faked the Entire UI The hackers didn’t just steal keys. They mimicked Bybit’s signing process with a fake UI and Safe URL. How did they know exactly how Bybit’s internal systems work? Either elite recon… or an insider leak.

2/ Targeted Malware via Internal Tools? A hacker tricking all 4 signers individually is insane. One X @TheSillySamurai suggests the hacker used JAMF, an admin tool, to push malware across all signers’ devices simultaneously. This isn’t a random attack—it’s precise.

1/ The Multisig Problem Bybit uses a 4/4 multisig wallet, meaning ALL 4 signers had to approve the transfer. How did a hacker compromise all four at the same time? 🤨 Theory: They had inside help.
