Eventful code brown on yard duty today. After I’d dismissed kids’ reports of poo on the ground with ‘oh it’s probably just possum poop’, I investigated & it was most definitely of human origin. As I dry retched & moved kids away, another poor kid projectile vomited at my feet.

I just finished listening to the boarded up theatre of the mind that is Shaun Micallef’s ‘Preincarnate’ (narrated by him) and though I could barely follow the time travelling plot, I laughed out loud many, many times. He’s a genius. 👏

Met a teacher today whose boss won’t let their staff have a seat or desk in their classroom. If they’re teaching, they have to be standing. And they wonder why teachers get the shits and leave the profession.

As part of my ongoing quest to indoctrinate my students with quality TV instead of watching the garbage they see on YouTube, today we watched a couple of clips of Guy Smiley, America’s favourite game show host. They loved him and begged for more!

My Year 2 class had a FaceTime with my eldest today. Long story but they wanted to see his tattoos. They were very funny and their usual boisterous selves. Just got this message from my son, who maybe now might appreciate how exhausting dealing with kids all day is! 😂

Had to drive through Melbourne’s most terrifying roundabout on Royal Parade not once, but twice today. Multiple lanes and many exits, traffic lights, a tram running through it, flags in the middle…the photo does not show true scariness but was definitely designed by a sadist! 😨
