Finnish doesn't have gender pronouns. The word we use is hän [ˈhæn] and it's a gender-neutral personal pronoun that doesn't specify whether the person in question is a woman, man or nonbinary. If we can live our lives like this without confusion, ya'll can do it once in a while.

It saddens and angers me to see how many industry people get left out of GDC once again because it’s not hybrid. Not only disabled folks like myself, but also gamedevs from certain countries (cannot get visa), some with small kids and many for financial reasons.

Us with “invisible” disabilities hear this kind of stuff too often. You might not see us crying in pain, fainting while doing house chores, or understand how many days/weeks it requires to recover from doing one “normal thing”. You can’t judge someone’s health without knowing.
"But why do YOU need accessibility, you don't look disabled?"
"You are just playing with your feet for show, you are faking it!"

Some years ago my best friend (Jewish girl) abandoned me and our 15 years old friendship after meeting her aunts who told her that Muslims _always_ hate Jewish people. She announced we cannot be friends anymore, no conversation, nothing. I was heartbroken (and still am).
I grew up in a leftist Jewish community and still, I was taught that anyone who questions Israel hates Jews because Israel is the only place Jews can be safe. We were taught to we had a ~birthright~ to Israel. This is why the acronym “PEP”(Progressive Except Palestine) exists✨

I don’t feel safe in bars. I don’t feel comfortable or have fun in drinking spaces. I don’t mind others drinking but can we do the work stuff & networking somewhere else, please.
Forcing non-drinkers into drinking spaces, where we often get harassed for not participating, be told we can't be trusted if we're not drinking too, being reminded we're not part of the culture at every step, and then being expected to clean the mess because "you're sober" sucks.

So, I’m finally officially diagnosed with ASD at the age of 40. When younger, I was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder, borderline, panic disorder, you name it. I tried all the therapies and meds but nothing helped. Eventually I went on with my life thinking it’s my fault -

I was told by couple of Arab muslim men that my career would never be anything but sinning (visible woman in the games industry) and as a woman I’d never have a chance to become professional anyway. Needless to say they aren’t in my life anymore. Also that’s why support from- 1/2

We can't go a single day without people missing the point any time a disabled person expresses disappointment that a new game won't be playable for them
I'll never understand why people view the push for games as a medium to become better as an attack on the things they love
