What will happen with immigration in the new administration? Nobody knows, but it won't be pretty. https://t.co/YCBHsYnGX5

Few issues dominated the 2024 presidential election like immigration. AEI's @stanveuger, alongside @WendyEdelberg, @CecEsterline & @taraelizwatson analyze the potential macroeconomic impact of president-elect Donald Trump's proposed immigration policies: https://t.co/AHR6GjhpVH

Excellent conversation with @JohanFourieZA on some topics American policymakers need to know about Africa. Something to listen to while you go vote (hopefully for democracy, immigration policy that doesn't ban Black/African immigrants, women's rights and climate change policy)

The presidential candidates’ differing approaches to immigration policy could show up in GDP growth—by as much as a half a percentage point (or $130 billion) in 2025, according to a new analysis from me, @CecEsterline, @stanveuger, and @taraelizwatson. https://t.co/pyuQq7YANM

In times of rapid unexpected change like we had with the immigration surge last year, measuring labor market growth is really challenging. We find growth in both US-born and foreign-born employment.

NEW: Employment growth of both U.S.-born and foreign-born people in the U.S. exceeded published estimates, @WendyEdelberg and @taraelizwaton find. Contrary to published estimates, employment grew for U.S.-born workers in 2023. 🧵
