I still don't really know but I suspect it's mostly because I don't want to experience any negative interactions or feelings with people I care about. Obviously there's also the white lies to make myself seem better than I am and show a better image to the public.

Realisation that I do this was insanely hard. Like why lie about pretty much everything especially when telling the truth either has the same or better outcome in 99.99% of situations and I don't have to manage to keep up the facade or remember the lies i've told.
