Current read: The Godwars trilogy by Angus Wells. Then onto Otherland by @tadwilliams since I found them at the store (well, found a few of them, eBay helped with the rest). I've become a used book hunter now that I'm reading at the level I did growing up (meaning all the time)

Love it when fantasy books boldly take on contemporary issues in a secondary world. Tad Williams is clearly exploring ideas around racism, communalism, colonialism, identity, prejudices etc etc. I predict by the time I finish the series, I'd call it a story for our divided world.
I have a bad habit of sometimes starting a book, reading a bit and forgetting it exists while I read other stuff. This happened to this thing. Returning to Empire of Grass now. 🫡📚

One of the thinks is really love about tad Williams Osten ard is how wonderfully benevolent most protagonists from different backgrounds are portrayed. 'he-who-always-walks-on-sand, let me find the right path' Extraordinary prayer, 10/10

@AwesomeBooksUK @tadwilliams @MrsTad Reading To Green Angel Tower in my bedroom in 1993 I was listening to the Sinfonye album "Bella Domna", medieval songs from the 12th/13th C. and it felt like the soundtrack of the world of Osten Ard but it even felt that the people in the book's voices were lifting off the page..
