Also, be sure you're properly maintaining your long-term ammo caches. I like to use the classic ammo cans, applying silicone lubricant to the seals and recharging the desiccant once a year. See my "How to Properly Store Ammunition" video for more tips.

If you stack multiple calibers and loadings like me, I strongly recommend using some sort of color coordinating system for quick and easy reference. A cheap and easy solution is to simply use electrical tape.

Each of these holds 3.5 gallons, about 29 pounds each when full. I've got a couple of spigots for these as well to make them easy to utilize. Just be sure your containers are BPA free. If you're not using municipal water that you know will keep for a while, be sure to do your.

Long-term water storage usually requires a decent amount of free space at home. For some, that may not be the easiest to allocate. Stackable containers, such as these Water Bricks, can minimize that footprint while being convenient to quickly move around or load into a vehicle.

to larger rigs (load-bearing webbing would ideally compliment a rig like this), but this one remains my go-to for multiple loadouts for good reason. Does this take a little more forethought instead of just piling nylon gear up in your closet that you’ll never train enough with?.

to cover any and all loadouts. In the second image you’ll also see another example that I’ve been using for many years now - my Haley D3CRM Micro rig. Made to be a chest rig and admin pouch, but also seamlessly transfers to my plate carrier as a placard. Yes, you can scale up.

hanger, which attaches below my chest rig/plate carrier. However, it’s also nice to use that same pouch to store extra magazines in, so I’ve opted to also get a Spiritus fanny sack as a tertiary med stash that can simply be worn on anything anywhere. One IFAK, three wear methods.

Here, you’ll see my HSGI ReFlex IFAK (bottom) pulled out of its sleeve on my battle belt (top). These belts are great if you’re on foot and not going far, but that’s about it. For rucking, I need my waist clear for my pack’s belt. I can stow the IFAK in my Haley multi-mission.

Minimize redundancies and get the most mileage out of your gear by tailoring a modular system that can address all of your needs. Medical is something I cannot compromise on and must be familiar with, regardless of what I’m kitted up for.
