Maduro is NOT the President of Venezuela and his regime is NOT the legitimate government. Maduro is the head of the Cartel de Los Soles, a narco-terror organization which has taken possession of a country. And he is under indictment for pushing drugs into the United States.

So yes — Ukraine’s current situation rapidly developed into volatile. But this not unprecedented. Hopefully, not for long. What matters is recognizing the fragility of the moment — and navigating it with a clear head. Because ignoring internal problems in the name of unity has.

What’s truly dangerous is the refusal to engage with this reality honestly. Sure, Russia absolutely is exploiting these cracks. They’ve always played the corruption card when it comes to Ukraine — it’s been one of their most consistent narratives since at least 2004.

In Ukraine’s case, these internal tensions are even more dangerous, the war is existential. Russian pressure isn't going away — in fact, it’s intensifying. At the same time, Ukraine’s military is stretched thin, constantly facing shortages in equipment, manpower, and funding.

Even the US — with all its global power — wasn’t immune. During the Vietnam War, mass protests, civil unrest, and a legitimacy crisis shook the country. The war didn’t end because the enemy won militarily — it ended because the U.S. lost the political and moral will to keep.

South Vietnam is another tragic example. It, too, was in a life-or-death war. But internal instability, corruption, and repeated coups eroded public trust and hollowed out the state. That chaos ultimately contributed to their defeat, despite years of military support from.

During the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Israel nearly collapsed under a surprise attack. Even after the immediate threat passed, the public turned on the government. The war exposed deep flaws — and people demanded accountability while the danger was still very real.

Take France in 1917: the country was locked in a brutal war of attrition with Germany, yet it faced mass army mutinies after the disastrous Nivelle Offensive. The protests didn’t mean the French suddenly wanted to end the war at any cost — they meant people were cracking under.

Social unrest, protests, and even mutinies have often emerged not in peacetime but during existential conflicts.

The successful export of drone warfare technologies will largely depend on who manages to build a more coherent and structured system for capturing and processing operational experience. This includes formalizing lessons learned (LL) protocols and generalizing After Action.

Ironically, this situation strengthens both countries’ roles in future global conflicts. Despite limited resources, Ukraine and Russia are becoming disproportionately capable of waging war—far more so than most other nations in the world.

At the same time, the lack of participation by potential global conflict actors makes Ukraine and Russia exceptional carriers of unique, real-world knowledge. But this knowledge remains poorly systematized. Development often occurs directly in the field, in an atomized manner at.
