🆕🎙️ It's more of an upbeat episode this time around as we reflect on
#OUFC
hitting form to keep the season alive. We look ahead to a pivotal 3 games in 6 days.... Can we do it?....
#COYY
💛💙
Can't get enough of this goal! - Great to see two sides of Barker's game there as well. Fingers crossed we can convince him to come back next season...
#OUFC
It started at a pub in Leeds and here we are almost 5 years later! Cheers to everyone who has contributed to the pod, all the guests we've had on, and to those who have allowed us to say words elsewhere. The
#OUFC
family is everything. The fans are the constant 💛💙
Looks like Browne gives us that 3rd option in terms of someone who can play through the middle. He worked his socks off today, and would have had a hat-trick on another day
#OUFC
Brannagan is magic, he wears a magic hat. He could have signed for Blackpool, but he said no f*ck that.
He's box to box for Oxford, he almost lost his sight. And when we win promotion, we'll sing this song all night ohhhhhhh.
Let's give him a hell of a reception on Sat!
#OUFC
🎶
Got to be the moment of the day...! Agyei subbed on after the 3rd goal, his first touch is where he picks it up, and he just strides towards the limbs! Beautiful!
#OUFC
So as discussed on this week's pod, it's disgusting that this turn from James Henry didn't make it into the highlights! The score was already 2-0 at this stage, and a mixture of an effective high press and Southend's play it out 'tactics' led to yet another chance
#OUFC
#COYY
Some appointment this. What a way to galvanise a fan base. Let's get behind Des, his staff, and his players to make this a season to remember. Up the Ox! 💛💙
#OUFC
✍️ We are delighted to announce the appointment of Des Buckingham as the club’s new men's first team Head Coach.
Welcome home, Des! 🏡💛

Let's hope this ends up being one of the pivotal moments of the season. We've been losing the midfield battle in this game, and have tried to go long rather than playing through the lines - I guess by the law of averages, one would eventually come off....!
#OUFC
Big hurdle cleared. No means done and dusted. But being able to move forward and form a planning application is massive. Look forward to seeing the details in time.
Huge well done to all the speakers on behalf of the club today, you did us all proud. One step closer

BREAKING: Oxfordshire County Council cabinet approves leasehold sale of land south of Kidlington, known as the Triangle, to Oxford Utd - subject to planning permission and covenants.

More throughout the afternoon on
@BBCOxford
Thanks for all the support for the pod this season folks! 💛💙 It's a shame we didn't make it back to Wembley but we go again next year in what's surely going to be another very competitive season. We'll sort out a season review pod at some point, and look ahead to 21/22
#OUFC
🐂
So, how are we feeling about the squad
#OUFC
faithful? Is this the most depth we've had for a while? Is GOD going to get enough minutes to develop his game? How is the battle of the full-backs going to play out?
Big game today - let's make it 5 in a row! 💛💙
Congratulations to Rob Atkinson who has been named in the Skybet League One team of the season at the EFL Awards which are being shown on Sky Sports Football at the moment
#oufc
Congratulations to
@gregleigh_
on his L1 Player of the Month award.
He joins what is shaping up to be a decent 5aside team of
#oufc
winners since we rejoined the football league.
Aug 2012 - Jake Wright
Jan 2014 - Ryan Clarke
Feb 2020 - Matty Taylor
Sept 2023 - Greg Leigh
🆕🎙️This week Jerome Sale joins the pod to provide some fantastic insight into his career in broadcasting and (of course) to talk all things
#OUFC
. Stay safe
#OUFCFamily
and enjoy!
People may not want to hear it but there are positives. Forde was decent at RB, Agyei looked great at times (and showed he had various strings to his bow), Brannagan was dynamite, Henry back on form second half. Go on a run now, and the season isn't dead
#OUFC
The annual League One run-in chart is here! We've kept the difficulty ratings basic - top 3: red, top half: orange, bottom half: white.
#OUFC
have a decent run of games after
#SAFC
, with
#Pompey
and
#ITFC
looking to have the best fixtures on paper for the finale.
Got to be proud of the boys after tonight. Fantastic for Holland and Kelly to get off the mark, and we go into Saturday with a buzz. Sykes, Dickie and Agyei stood out. How are we feeling
#OUFCFamily
?
As discussed on this week's pod, we have decided the best way to solve the Cadden situation is to create a one-off pre-season tournament between Columbus, Motherwell and
@OUFCOfficial
(The Ohio Milk Scotch Cadden Cup). The prize? Chris Cadden of course!
#OUFC
If you haven't watched the ifollow interview with Karl Robinson about his new contract. Watch it. The passion, honesty and love for the club is clear to see. We're in very good hands.
#oufc
👏👏👏
#OUFC
Another day we get a win on that, more of a classic away performance 2nd half. Best team for majority. Ipswich fans on the train surprisingly don't agree...
We signed a winger from Northern Ireland,
We signed another and he came from Boro,
Now I believe in miracles and a miracle is happening tonight,
If you're on the wing for Oxford, it don't matter if you're Browne or Whyte
#oufc
🤝 We are delighted to confirm the permanent signing of
@MarcusBrowne14
on a two-and-a-half year deal from
@Boro
.

🆕🎙️This week we ramble away on the world of
#OUFC
talking everything from our clean sheet record to MK's version of 'total football', and all sorts of nonsense in-between. There's also the small matter of this weekend to discuss...
A huge thank you to
@DavePritchard83
for his excellent coverage of
#oufc
over the last 8.5 years for the Oxford Mail. His A-Z signing off thread is worth a read to revive some special memories. Best of luck for your next role. See you on a Tuesday night up north somewhere?
Worth noting Sam Long did well today, Elliot Moore's range of passing was impressive, and Stevens' distribution was on point for most of the game too. A more solid looking back line definitely gives us something to build on
#OUFC
Nothing like transfer deadline day is there!
You've got a Blackpool fan saying their mate has seen CamBran at Bloomfield Road whilst an Oxford fan says he is fishing at their local lake
#oufc
It's all about the KR fist pump at the end, fronted by a gleaming Matty Taylor in the foreground. What a massive second half display to keep this run going. Something feels different about this season (!).... 💛💙💛💙💛💙💛
#OUFC
ALSO! How good was
@Cameron246bran
today!? An absolutely outstanding display - breaking up play, keeping us ticking along, and ultimately when the pressure was on - proving to be a key factor towards maintaining the integrity of our underwear
#OUFC
Oh Joey, still feeling a bit numb, hero, legend, you name it. Inspired us all playing at the Manor, a big part of making the stadium what it was. Just pure heart and joy
#RIPJoey
#oufc
💛💙
What an incredible performance from the boys considering the stakes! Burton had lost 1 in 9, with a ridiculously good away record of late, which just makes it that much more impressive. No matter what happens now, to get in the playoffs two years running is immense
#OUFC
🆕🎙️ The bumper 21/22 season finale pod...! We discuss the conclusion of the season, reflect on the campaign as a whole, look back to our pre-season predictions..(!), and start to think about what we need (and don't need!) squad wise for 22/23
#OUFC
💛💙
KR says in iFollow interview that has just gone up that we're not selling anybody. There has been:
- a sizeable bid for Sykes rejected.
- Brannagan bids turned down.
and we are aware of conversations elsewhere about Atkinson/Moore
#oufc
Craig Short's pre Orient iFollow interview confirms that First Team Analyst James Krause has now joined Bristol City. Short has brought in former Derby coach Pat Lyons to assist him for the immediate future
#oufc
One more piece of Philadelphia Union news: Sources say the club are finalizing the transfer of Scottish defender Stuart Findlay to Oxford United.
Findlay, 26, never won regular playing time with the Union after arriving ahead of 2021 season, just six starts in total.
And to keep the positivity going, yesterday we beat an Orient side who were unbeaten in 5 having only lost 1 in their last 9, including results against Barnsley and P’boro 💛💙
