All of this is a "solution" to awful hiring processes full of monotonous, inhuman questions that aren't really connecting with the candidate in a personal way at all.

36 years of programming. and I am in a state of perpetual wonder. I don't think I will ever get used to the fact that a prompt like this works. Or, to be more accurate, I think by the time I get used to it, something even more mind-blowing will be happening.

Normally that day would have been a write-off. Instead, it was a nice productive day when a useful report got built and deployed. Total cost of Claude for that day was maybe $15, on API. Fantastic value for money.

But the day when I did this, I was very busy with other stuff. So actually I gave it attention for maybe an hour in total. And I got a day's focused work done in that hour of cumulative attention.

All in all this was not a huge amount of work. It was maybe half a day to a day's work, for a relatively complex report, with tests and external API integrations, and neat UI optimisations.
