I wonder if some people even enjoy the sport as a sport. Some people seem far more interested turning the sport into a soap opera and everyone having these heightened reality TV personalities instead of being their real selves with the variety of personalities real people have.

To clarify I don't actually dislike any skaters. There are some (e.g.🍕👑) I'm no longer a fan of w/ more info but I don't actively wish them ill and make repudiating them online my whole personality. If you "hate" someone for petty reasons then OWN IT.

It is ok to dislike a skater purely because they’re a hindrance to your fave. Ideological justifications are unnecessary. You do not have to make it about your gold medal at the Moral Olympics every single time.

I personally approach fs this way and don't feel the need to be yet another uninformed critic esp towards skaters I'm not invested in. Would be nice to find likeminded people but the different ways others choose to "enjoy" this sport are none of my business 😄
some of the way y’all approach figure skating would be very odd in the context of any other sport. like imagine there were huge swathes of people showing up to a pistons game going “oh boy I hope I see some good gameplay! may the team that scores the most points win <3”
